Two composers. Two musical philosophies. One unforgettable night of theatre. Battle of the Titans: Sondheim v. Webber is a thrilling cabaret experience that celebrates the enduring legacies of Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber, two of the most influential and transformative figures in musical theatre history. This cabaret invites audiences to explore the striking contrast between Sondheim’s intricate lyricism, complex characters, and emotionally nuanced storytelling, and Webber’s sweeping melodies, bold theatricality, and grand, operatic style.

Through iconic songs and powerful performances, the evening becomes both a celebration and a playful comparison - highlighting how each composer has shaped generations of artists and audiences alike. Whether you’re drawn to Sondheim’s sharp wit and emotional depth or Webber’s lush harmonies and spectacle, Battle of the Titans offers something for every theatre lover. It’s a night that honors Broadway’s past, celebrates its present, and reminds us why these two legends continue to define the art form.

AUDITION DETAILS:

Auditions for Battle of the Titans will be conducted via VIDEO SUBMISSION ONLY.

SUBMISSIONS MUST BE EMAILED BY 11:59PM ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9TH.

Please prepare a 60–90 second cut of your favorite Sondheim or Webber song that showcases your vocal ability. All audition submissions must be performed with a backing track or accompaniment. A cappella auditions are not preferred.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

  • Record your audition video

  • Upload your video file to your email or provide a YouTube or Vimeo link

  • Email your submission to Andy at: andy@threeriversmusictheatre.com

  • Include your name, pronouns, and known rehearsal conflicts in the email

Rehearsals will be Mondays-Thursdays from November 2nd - 12th, 7-10PM at Three Rivers Music Theatre. Performances are November 13th - 15th and November 20th - 22nd. Performance conflicts cannot be accommodated.

Battle of the Titans will be directed by Andy Planck.
