Come way down and step into the world of gods and mortals in Hadestown: Teen Edition! Three Rivers Music Theatre is calling all teen performers (13-19) to raise their voices and bring this epic folk-jazz musical to life. This thrilling adaptation of the Tony Award-winning show tells a tale of love, sacrifice, and defying the darkness. Will you play your part in this mean old world? Auditions will feature vocal and movement components, and anybody can shine—all experience levels are welcome. Don’t miss your chance to sing it again and dance among the gods!

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS
ORPHEUS – A passionate and idealistic musician with a heart full of hope and a voice that can change the world. (Tenor with strong falsetto, range: D3-C5 (opt. Eb5)) Acoustic Guitar experience a plus!
IF YOU PLAY GUITAR, PLEASE ACCOMPANY YOURSELF USING THE CHORDS PROVIDED BELOW THE VOCAL LINE IN THE SHEET MUSIC. IF YOU DON’T PLAY GUITAR, USE TRACK.
EURYDICE – A tough and independent young woman trying to survive in a harsh world. (Mezzo-Soprano with strong belt, range: F#3-D5)
HADES – The ruler of the underworld, powerful and commanding, yet burdened by his own fears. (Bass, range: F2-C#4)
PERSEPHONE – The lively, free-spirited queen of the underworld, torn between two worlds. (Mezzo-Soprano/Alto, range: F3-C5)
HERMES – The charismatic and smooth-talking narrator of the story, guiding the characters and audience alike. Tenor or baritone with spoken-word and rhythmic abilities. (Tenor/Baritone, range: C3-B4 — Female identifying singers could play with the octaves based on your unique vocal range and style)
THE FATES (3 performers) – A haunting, ever-present trio who weave the threads of destiny. Mezzo-sopranos or altos with tight harmonies and strong stage presence.
